Philakade

Philakade Care Home is situated in Embo, a deprived township, about 15 minutes drive from iKhethelo children’s village. Philakade opened in 2019 to provide much needed residential and nursing care to adults and children with chronic physical or mental health needs.

 

Philakade is an extension of the Community Church’s primary health care clinic next door and are registered with the Department of Health. A large team of trained community care givers are lead by a nursing supervisor. They are supported by volunteer doctors and physiotherapists.

 

The Philakade Care Home team provide a patient-centred approach in their care. People from all backgrounds are welcome; all ages, all ethnicities, all faiths, those with HIV or AIDs, those with substance misuse, those who were homeless and those whose family are no long able to look after their care needs.
